And then *poof* vacation is over... I had such a great time with Cap, though.  We pretty much did nothing but hang out and it was AWESOME!  I love you, Cap.  Thanks for making vacation so awesome, and I'll see you same time, next year.

Today is just a sleepy day.  Did I sleep in, though?  Nope, my workplace hosts a huge Christmas party every year at our local stadium. They serve hot dogs and popcorn and all kinds of candy and cookies and sodas, milk and chocolate milk.  They also give out presents for every child there, ages 0 - 9 years.  This year, we tried something new - FACE PAINTING and balloon art for the kids.  Well, guess what I did?  Yep, face painting.  It was my first time, but it was so much fun!  I painted snowmen and Santas and decorated trees.  One girl wanted a butterfly, and one boy wanted a present, and then two wanted heartagrams (they were skaters).  So, it was cool. THEN I took over photography duties and tried to get pictures of every child getting a present.  I think I only missed two or three total, out of 200 or so kids.

It has been a laid back weekend, and I am glad.  And one more week and then I AM ON VACATION!!!!!!

I have something to say.  WHAT THE HECK IS GOING ON WITH PEOPLE THESE DAYS?  Why are people trying to make everyone stop saying "Merry Christmas"? I am so sick of hearing about it.  Do you know what I feel the big problem is?  Commercialism.  That's right.  I think that the people who are trying to put a ban on saying the individual celebration greetings and lump EVERYONE into one "HAPPY HOLIDAYS" frame of mind are the ones who only focus on the COMMERCIAL aspect of the holidays.  They have FORGOTTEN the real reasons for the seasons (Christmas, Hanukkah, Kwanzaa, Boxing Day - whatever you celebrate).  I am not going to begin to even try to explain the meanings of all the holidays, and I hope that I do not offend anyone for that.  I wish I knew more about them myself, simply to HONOR the people who celebrate them, and the reasons they do so.  So, excuse me, but enough is enough. Next thing you know, they'll be banning rabbits, hearts, flowers, and neckties because they are icons associated with holidays that not everyone celebrates.  BIG WOO!  Get over yourselves - let those who want to celebrate do so, and let those who do not want to not do so, and let's move on and remember what the season is all about.

In other news, well, things are still about the same here.  But we are rolling with it.  Why do kids make you so crazy?  Just when you figure out that YOU are sane, POOF, here come your kids to prove you wrong.  It's like you have your parents reminding you that you still have a lot to learn, and your kids coming up telling you that you don't know anything.... you're just stuck in the middle.  Too many people telling you you're nuts.  (This does not apply to my in-laws, who usually just look at us and sympathize and give advice when it is asked for.)

Oh, wait, I was supposed to be fluffy now.  Sorry - frivolity coming soon, I promise. 

Today was a good day in other ways, though:  today we friends from work took Ana out to lunch for her birthday.  We went to Lazzari's, which is my favorite Italian food place in town.  (Yes, I cheered when the birthday girl picked it!) 

Oh, but then I was the last one to leave, and everyone was gone when I walked outside and WHAM fell flat on my rear and my left hand.  I HURT!!!!!  My shoes were slick and the sidewalk was slick and there I went and landed real hard.  Nothing is broken, but OUCH!!!!!!

And, finally, in Nip/Tuck land - how funny was it that a whole bunch of us went directly to the MySpace site after the show last night?!  A certain someone says that he thinks the Carver is Matt.  Never thought about that before. I still have my sick theory that it is Shawn.  That will so mess me up if he is... ew!

Ah, the bad news.  The boy got suspended for three days.  This brings a LOT of other trouble that I won't go into right now.  PLUS, he wants to go back and live with his Mom.  Cap is so upset.  Today brings one sad, sad Fossie.

What a great weekend!  First, Friday night, Mike, Missi, Anthony and I went to the Forum and saw "Misery".  It was a very good performance.  Now, granted, this is NOT my usual type of play, but it was really good.  Besides, it was for Anthony and Missi's birthdays, so how could I not want to go?!  Interestingly, I saw two members of my certain favorite Arkansas band sitting on the front row.  But, it's not like I'm going to go up and say, "Hi, I'm your number one fan" while we are in the intermission of a play about a "number one fan" being a total psycho! I LOVE IRONY!

Well, then Mike and I hung out all day Saturday, because it was his BIRTHDAY!  Yep, my ol' man is the same as age me.  But then we went with Anthony, Missi, and Bobby and all went to see Jethro Tull - one of Mike's two favorite bands, btw - in Tunica. Oh, yeah, and then I played Triple Diamonds Slots and won 900. Okay, it was 900 QUARTERS, but it was still nice.  $250 was great to bring home and put in the checking account.  I also gave Mike his Cap ring, and he loved it.  And the gang got him "House" season 1 and he was just thrilled about that!

In other wonderful news, the FD Fansite is up to TWENTY NINE members!  YIPPEE!!!

YIKES! A whole week has passed?  My lord... how time flies. Okay, first off:

EEEEEE!  Is he not just the cutest thing?!  Okay, so Herman is my new pet.  I'll add him to the adopted page here soon.  But I just wanted you guys to see him.

As for me, I am SICK SICK SICK!  (Now, those of you who know me are aware that this is not a new sentiment, for several of you have told me I need help.)  But no, I mean REALLY like flu-like sick.  :o(  I am going to post this and then go to BED!

Quick update:  I went with Cap, Lois, Sup, WebGod and QueenMuddah to Tunica this last weekend and we had a blast!  Did Fossie win any monies?  Nope.  Blew the whole wad.  However, Cap made up for it so YEAH!  Now maybe I can go pay of some credit cards and then go see FURTHER DOWN in concert!!! YEAH!!!

Well loyal readers, GUESS WHAT I just did?  I JUST SAW FURTHER DOWN IN CONCERT!!! EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!! I cannot believe I was just there.  In the same room.  As for the concert, OMG... they were so very very very very amazing!!!! I am so very very very impressed. They have such a great show, both the music and the stage presence. And I got to meet Robby and Skip tonight. WOW. Really great guys. The kids in the audience were really into the music by the end of the night, but at the beginning ... you know how concerts start off. But Micheal really worked the crowd and got the kids stirred up. And did I mention that Robby is a guitar god? Oh yeah. And Josh's vocals and playing are so awesome. They harmonize so well.  And Red's bass playing just feels like a heartbeat ... whoa. And Aaron pours his whole soul into those drums. And Micheal's vocals....I could listen to him sing all day. 

But then GUESS WHAT?! They played such an amazing set - and then came back for an encore of GUESS WHAT GUESS WHAT GUESS WHAT? THEY PLAYED AEROSMITH!!!! They did SWEET EMOTION - my FAVORITE!!! AND THEY NAILED IT!!!!!

So, all I have to tell you is you must must must go see these guys play.  And buy their records.  And play those records for your friends.  And have THEM go to the concerts.

Say it ain't so - SHE'S POSTING TWO DAYS IN A ROW?!?!?  Yep, that's right.  Two days of me me me.  LOL!  Been a pretty good day.  I had a little happy a few minutes ago.  A guy got on my MySpace page and flirted with me and asked me out.  I told him I was all married and old and stuff.  I haven't heard from him since, but it was still a hoot that someone thought I was cute! 

Oh, well,  I have to share this:  I am in love.  With a band.  Now, this can't be cheating, because I am sure that if Joe Perry of Aerosmith ever bothers to check in here, then he will know that I've loved him since I was seven years old, and will love him forever.  And Steven, Brad, Tom and Joey all know that I will love them forever too.  BUT, I have another love.  FURTHER DOWN.  OMG - these guys rock so very much.  And, they are from my hometown, but watch out - they will be rocking arenas all over the world any day now.  Go check them out here.  And, they are playing a benefit concert for the March of Dimes tomorrow night at Bay High School in Bay, Arkansas.  So, if you are of a mind to, come on down and check them out.  Robby, Micheal, Red, Josh, and Aaron, You guys are AWESOME.  (You too Skip!)
